Enhanced Motion Visualisation and Characterisation in Ultrasound Imaging: Work in Progress
نویسندگان
چکیده
At the moment ultrasound technology is not capable of delivering the necessary visual and quantitative information required by many medical applications where motion study is required. Doppler ultrasound iS sensitive only to relatively high velocity components of motion and users must themselves interpret the gray level image to determine any useful properties relating to the remaining large range of lower velocity components. Characterisation of motion for slow phenomena over elapsed time periods of the order of minutes is especially difficult for humans to perform.

Unusual Ossifying Pediatric Renal Mass: A Case Report
Renal cell carcinoma is an uncommon tumor in pediatric population. It is important for the clinicians to know its diagnosis as the management of renal cell carcinoma RCC is different from Wilms Tumor which is the most common tumor encountered in children .The management is surgical resection with no proven role for chemo or radiotherapy so far. Here, we present a case of seven-year-old male chil...
متن کاملDesign, Evaluation and Prototyping of a New Robotic Mechanism for Ultrasound Imaging
This paper presents a new robotic mechanism for ultrasound imaging. The device is placed on a patient's body by an operator, and an ultrasound expert controls the motions of the device to obtain ultrasound images. The paper focuses on the robotic mechanism that performs ultrasound imaging. The design of the mechanism is based on two approaches to produce center of motion for an ultrasound probe...
متن کاملGold nanoparticle-induced sonosensitization enhances the antitumor activity of ultrasound in colon tumor-bearing mice
Introduction: Light-driven cancer therapy strategies (e.g. photodynamic therapy and photothermal therapy) have undergone remarkable progress in recent years, but they still suffer from a serious drawback of limited penetration depth of light in tissue. As a non-invasive and non- ionizing radiation, ultrasound can be focused remotely, transferring acoustic energy deep in the bo...
متن کاملMultimodal imaging and computer assisted diagnosis for functional tumour characterisation
Radiological modalities, especially CT, mainly provide morphological and structural information with high spatial resolution covering large volumes. Novel developments, which are predominantly MR-based, also deliver 'functional' information, which can be used for individual characterisation of tumour biology. Both aspects and modalities, additionally complemented by ultrasound, have to be combi...
متن کاملUltrasound Assisted Surfactant Enhanced Emulsification Microextraction and Spectrofluorimetry for Determination of Oxadiazon in Agricultural Water Samples
In this work, an environmentally friendly sample pre-treatment method, Ultrasound Assisted Surfactant Enhanced Emulsification Microextraction (UASEME) followed with spectrofluorimetry was performed for determination of oxadiazon residues in water samples. After the determination of the most suitable extraction solvent and its volume, other parameters such as type and concentration of surfac...
